Miu Miu dressed like the alarm went off while the clothes were still arguing.
For Spring 2027, Miuccia Prada put office blazers over sports bras, running shorts beneath grown-up leather, racing tops with kitten heels and respectable skirts with trainers that looked ready to flee the premises. Nothing matched in the obedient, influencer-approved sense. Everything connected through friction. The collection did not assemble outfits. It staged collisions.
Good. The complete look has become a corporate sedative: one mood, one palette, one easily shoppable identity. Miu Miu arrived with 76 competing personalities and refused to choose.
The outfit is dead
The first stretch looked almost civilised: checks, shirts, cardigans, neat skirts, sensible bags. Then the styling began to twitch. A royal-blue vest was trapped beneath a checked blazer while tiny patterned shorts did the work of trousers. A burgundy sports top met a scarf tied low around the hips. The shoes kept changing the verdict—technical trainers under tailoring, delicate heels beneath gym clothes, loafers asked to endorse garments they had clearly never met.
This is Miu Miu’s real power. The house understands that “wrong” is often only a trend waiting for wealthy witnesses. Prada does not resolve the contradiction; she prices it, photographs it and lets the rest of fashion spend six months learning how to copy the discomfort.

Underwear reported for work
The collection’s most shameless proposition was not nudity. It was context collapse. A bra became a day top. Running shorts took meetings. A navy track jacket hung open over an electric-blue crop and microscopic printed bottoms while an enormous white bag suggested a woman carrying the rest of her life because her outfit had declined to.
The body was exposed, but never offered as a polished fantasy. Waists were bare because layers had slipped out of agreement. Shorts looked borrowed from PE class, swim practice or someone else’s overnight bag. Even glamour came slightly winded. Miu Miu’s sex appeal has always depended on the humiliation of being seen trying; Spring 2027 removed the alibi and kept the appetite.
Casting became part of the argument
The runway mixed models with performers including Olivia Colman, Jamie Bell, Emma Corrin, Katherine Waterston, Ella Bleu Travolta and Noah Jupe. That could have become the usual celebrity cameo parade: applause, screenshot, next. Instead, the casting widened the collection’s emotional register.
Colman’s leather jacket and straight skirt gave adult authority without pretending adulthood means visual silence. Gigi Hadid arrived in an asymmetric grey sports bra and a decorated skirt with running shoes—celebrity polish sabotaged by an outfit that looked mid-edit. Age, fame and gender were not exceptions to the Miu Miu girl; they exposed how small that category had become.

The gym bag ate the wardrobe
The new Wrangler collaboration and the continuing New Balance partnership kept the collection’s high-low argument from becoming pure styling theatre. Workwear, vintage sportswear and the reworked RC150 runner gave the looks a physical life. These were clothes with somewhere to go, even when they seemed to have forgotten what that somewhere required.
The bags grew comically practical while the shorts shrank to a dare. Metallic and animal-textured jackets swaggered over mesh and running bottoms. A sweet orange mini dress appeared just as the collection threatened to turn entirely feral, then another model marched out in a red long-sleeve top, embellished bra and orange shorts. Every attempt at order was immediately mugged by another category.

Bad styling won
Not every collision was electric. Some looks felt less deliberately unresolved than simply burdened by options, and the ceaseless accessories occasionally turned tension into merchandise. But the strongest moments made conventional good taste look timid. They did not flatter the fantasy that identity can be solved by buying the correct uniform.
Miu Miu has spent years commercialising the private panic of getting dressed: too young, too old, too bare, too serious, too clever, not finished. Spring 2027 stopped treating that panic as a flaw. The bra could be formal. The running short could be precious. The actor could be the model. The trainer could interrupt the skirt.
The outfit, as a complete and tasteful sentence, is dead. Miu Miu left the body standing over it in micro-shorts and kitten heels.
