The website is created, hosted and delivered through Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Framer acts as a processor for Bleach Media under a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. Framer and its authorised subprocessors process technical information required to deliver and secure the website. This may include IP address, access time, requested URL, referrer, browser and device information, operating system, response status and transferred data volume.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are the secure, reliable and efficient operation of the publication. Storage or access strictly necessary to provide the website is permitted under Section 25(2) TDDDG. Technical logs are normally deleted or anonymised within 30 days unless longer retention is necessary to investigate an incident, comply with law or establish legal claims.
BLEACH uses Framer's built-in privacy-first analytics. Framer Analytics does not use cookies or persistent identifiers. To estimate daily unique visitors, Framer hashes the IP address and user agent with a secret that rotates and is deleted each day. BLEACH receives aggregated metrics such as page views, sources, pages, countries and device types, not data that directly identifies a visitor. Depending on the Framer plan, aggregated analytics history is available for up to 90 days.
Contact, submissions and business enquiries
If you use a BLEACH contact, newsletter, editorial submission or business enquiry form, the information is collected through Framer's native form infrastructure. Framer Forms may process your name, email address, organisation, message, attachments, portfolio links, submission time and technical metadata and then deliver the submission to Bleach Media. Framer applies built-in rate limiting and background spam protection without Google reCAPTCHA.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where it is necessary to take steps before entering into or performing a contract. Otherwise, it is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, conducting editorial work, preventing abuse and managing professional relationships. Where retention is legally required, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR also applies.
Please do not send special-category data or confidential third-party information unless it is necessary and you are authorised to do so.
Newsletter
Newsletter registration is collected through a native Framer form. We process your email address together with the time, IP address and status of your registration and confirmation. The newsletter will use double opt-in so that the address must be confirmed before messages are sent. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent records are retained to demonstrate compliance.
The sending provider must be connected through a named Framer integration or plugin. Before any subscriber data is transferred, this section and the consent text will be updated with that provider's identity, processing location, retention period and transfer safeguards. Opening or click measurement will remain disabled unless it is separately disclosed and consented to.
You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link or by contacting hello@bleachmagazine.com. After unsubscribing, the address may be kept on a suppression list solely to prevent further newsletter delivery.
Search, Framer Analytics and cookies
Search terms may be processed temporarily in the browser or through the Framer search function used by BLEACH to return relevant stories and protect the service from misuse. Search terms are not used to build a personal profile. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Framer's built-in analytics is cookie-free and does not create persistent visitor identifiers. No consent banner is required solely for native Framer Analytics. Technically necessary storage may be used to provide requested functions, remember privacy choices, protect forms and maintain security under Section 25(2) TDDDG.
If BLEACH later activates a Framer plugin, custom code or third-party integration that stores or accesses non-essential information on a device, it will remain blocked until valid consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR has been obtained. Cookie settings will provide equally visible accept and reject choices, granular controls and a permanent way to withdraw consent.
Plugins, embedded media, social links and consent
Framer plugins and integrations are not automatically covered by Framer's privacy-first analytics. A plugin may connect the website to an independent provider and may use cookies, pixels, external requests or transfers outside the European Economic Area.
Ordinary menu or footer links to BLEACH profiles on Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Pinterest and Spotify do not transmit data to those services before you click. After you follow a link, the platform operates under its own privacy terms and may process account, device and interaction data. BLEACH may receive aggregated profile or audience statistics from the platform.
If a social post, video, audio player or other third-party service is embedded directly on BLEACH, any non-essential connection must remain blocked until consent where required. A local preview should be shown before activation.
Before BLEACH activates a plugin that processes visitor data, the provider, purpose, data categories, legal basis, recipients, storage duration and transfer safeguards must be documented in this policy. Where consent is required, the tool must be blocked before consent and controlled through Cookie settings.
Shopping and affiliate links
Some shopping links contain an affiliate identifier. If you follow one of these links, the external retailer or affiliate network may recognise that the visit originated from BLEACH. BLEACH may receive aggregated information about referrals, purchases and commission. We do not receive your payment card details from the retailer.
Our legal basis for using ordinary affiliate links and aggregated reporting is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in financing independent editorial work. Any attribution technology placed on or read from your device by BLEACH is activated only where permitted under Section 25 TDDDG and, where required, after consent. We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the stated purpose. Native Framer analytics uses a daily rotating secret for its unique-visitor calculation and does not retain a persistent visitor identifier. Framer form submissions and resulting communications are retained until the enquiry is completed and then deleted unless continued storage is required for a contract, editorial documentation, legal obligations or the establishment or defence of legal claims. When data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object for reasons arising from your particular situation. If data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time without giving reasons.
